Laughter
The Best Medicine!

We have all heard it at one time or another... "Laughter is the Best Medicine", and most of us would completely agree with this statement.

However, when life gets in the way and things are not going our way, laughter doesn't come easy even when we are presented with scenes, details or situations that have made us laugh out loud in the past... and paradoxically, it is at precisely in those moments when we need to laugh the most.

In general, we are becoming too serious about life. That shouldn't come as a surprise if we consider the turmoil of today's world.

It seems that wherever we go we find people who are tired, discouraged, stressed, disheartened, worried, and concerned.

In extreme instances some of them go through life feeling
hopeless and helpless, which
is not only sad but extremely dangerous for both, physical and mental health.

Several studies have shown that when people focus often on the negative side of life and don't laugh regularly, they become prone to depression; and it is well known that a depressed person tends to see reality in a distorted way, which will only feed the depression further.

The good news is that laughter is indeed the best medicine to prevent or break this vicious cycle. We can learn to take life less seriously and we can also learn to laugh at ourselves and at the silly events around us. Truth is, if we pay attention, we'll discover that life offers us plenty of opportunities for us to laugh. Here are a few benefits for you to laugh often...

  • Physical health

Several studies have shown that laughter reduces blood pressure, boosts the immune system, relaxes tight muscles, and reduces incidence of chronic diseases. Also, some studies suggest that people who laugh often live longer as compared to those who worry too much.

As a matter of fact, every time we laugh our brains produce endorphins. These are natural substances that have the power to modify the action of our nerve cells which not only stimulate our mood, but counteract the effects of stress, and control pain and hunger.

Laughter also offers us an opportunity for personal growth as we move through life feeling uplifted and encouraged.

Dr. Andrew Weil, America's foremost practitioner of alternative medicine, recently recommended active participation in "Laughter Yoga", an exercise routine for complete well-being, as a way to heal and improve a variety of physical symptoms...

But, if you thought that was not enough... laughter also keeps our facial expression youthful! And now, you can learn Laughter Yoga with ease, and
wherever you are to awaken the joy within and improve the quality of
    your life!

  • Motivation and Inspiration

Adopting a good sense of humor and laughing often can give you the extra push when the going gets tough. If you have ever tried to become inspired and motivated while feeling down, you know how close to impossible that is.

While we all have challenges in life at one point or another, the ability to laugh can provide us with the needed positive outlook that makes the difference between overcoming the challenge successfully or not.

  • Interpersonal Relationships

Laughter makes us more attractive to others. It's fun to be around people with a good sense of humor and an uplifting personality, wouldn't you agree? If you have ever tried to strike a conversation with a straight face versus a smiley one you've experienced this first hand!

  • Mind Power and Learning

    When you laugh, you perceive your reality more optimistically;
you are able to see more possibilities which translate to more probabilities no matter what situation you may
    be facing.

It is as if your mind becomes more powerful, more open.

Compare this to trying to solve a problem from a gloom and doom starting point... Moreover, when we are happy, we learn better. Practice humor when studying, and you will retain the information easier.

  • Energy

Much has been talked about how to use the Law of Attraction in our lives, and attracting like vibrations is one of the main points.

One of the ways to attract what we want is maintaining a high vibration, and laughter enhances and grows that vibrational energy
    with ease!

  • While we cannot control every single thing that happens to us, we have full control on how we react to situations. Yes, life has many challenges, but it is also full of choices and we have control over those choices.

We can choose how to react to what happens and we can choose to take life more lightly. We can also choose to find humor in our daily lives, and we can choose to laugh more often. So... Choose wisely!

We can develop our "funny bone" and allow own unique sense of humor to emerge. We can all be funny and charming while reaping the benefits of a great laugh!

Laughter offers us the opportunity to create a destiny of health and happiness.

So, what are you waiting for?
    Go laugh about something today!

    Live, Love and Laugh BIG!
