Intuition

We’ve all had experiences involving intuition... all of a sudden and out of the blue, we feel this huge hunch and somehow we know that something is going to happen... only to find out later on that our presentiment had translated into reality...

Another example is when we meet a person for the first time and either we immediately feel connected to them, or we perceive a negative feeling about them. All of this happens instantly bypassing our conscious awareness and five physiological senses.

Intuition refers to the “knowing” of external things happening without the reasoning, feedback, logic, or use of the senses from
which other “knowings” usually emerge.

It is also called “sixth sense” and some link
it to paranormal phenomena, and ESP or
extrasensory perception.

Intuition can be experienced through clairvoyance, clairaudience, and/or sensing clearly. Let’s explore these three occurrences.

Clairvoyance is a French word that means “Clearly Seeing” and it happens when perceive information through seeing or visualizing which doesn’t involve our sense of sight.

It is when our inner eye –also called “the third eye”- is at work seeing what we can’t with our eyes. We can clearly see that something is
happening or is about to happen somewhere but are not using our eyes to see this.

Clairaudience, also a French word, means “Clearly Hearing” and refers to the knowing or perceiving a feeling through listening which goes beyond the auditory sense.

This happens when we are able to "listen" in between what is being said or listening to a “voice in our minds.” Some people claim that they hear spirit guides or receive communication from other entities.

This kind of intuition can also happen when a certain sound brings up an intense feeling, such as a bird twitting or even a never before heard song.

Sensing Clearly is the most common form of intuition. We refer to this experience as having had a "hunch" or "gut feeling." This is the time when we feel overwhelmed with a feeling that is hard to explain. When this happens, all we can say with complete certainty is... "Don’t ask me how. I just know."

It has been said that only some people are gifted with intuition. Astrologers even insist that people born under the Scorpio or Pisces signs are naturally intuitive. Others say that this “sense” can sometimes be so powerful, it almost borders on ESP.

However, recent studies suggest that we all are born with this gift and that we just need to learn to develop it.

And why is there a need to develop intuition? -you may ask. Why not let our emotional and psychological state as it is?

There are clear advantages to developing our intuition. To start, intuition promotes good communication, empathy and compassion. It makes us more sensitive to the needs of people around us and can keep us from hurting those we love. When you sense the feelings of your loved ones, you understand them better which leads to better relationships.

A good sense of intuition also promotes creativity and expands the means for expression.

Moreover, intuition has a healing power which goes beyond the physical sense.

It helps us delve deep into our soul to eradicate hidden negative energy that may be affecting our physical and emotional health. It also gives us cues as to how to heal ourselves and what shifts to make in order to live a happier life.

Having learned this... are you ready to develop your intuition? Utilize these seven ways to unlock your precious gift.

  • Hypnosis

Hypnosis can help develop intuition because it strengthens the connection with your inner guidance. You can access your intuition with ease while being in an altered state of consciousness. Hypnosis is not limited to visiting a hypnotherapist and watching a pendulum move back and forth. Performing self-hypnosis through an hypnotic program can help you strengthen intuition.

  • Meditation

Meditation helps you relax the mind and leads to finding peace within. When your mind is cluttered with too many problems, you are not able to quiet down, and this impedes the awakening of intuition.

There are so many ways to meditate.

You can take a yoga class, or just simply practice deep and rhythmic breathing that can lead you straight to Zen.

There are also a myriad of musical tones to help you meditate.

  • Think Positive

A worry-free, fear-free state can do so much to improve the quality of your life as well as your intuitive ability. By staying positive, your vibrations are high. This attracts good energy that allows you to easily recognize imminent feelings and events. Your intuitive ability is directly linked to the state of your mind.

  • Let Go

When you are in a situation in which you need to make a huge decision, let go of all thoughts, worries, concerns and inhibitions. Go to a quiet place where you can be in peace for a few moments and listen to the voice within. Just ask your inner guidance what to do... let go and relax. Your inner voice just comes out when you let go of all attachments and possible outcomes, but in most instances this won’t happen instantaneously, so be patient, and...

  • Get Out of Your Own Way

Once you have let go of the inhibitions and all those things that keep you from tuning into your inner guidance, go out and do something different. Allow yourself to get distracted from the situation you are trying to solve or decide upon. Do not expect an immediate answer. Usually, intuition doesn’t work like that. A "hunch" seldom falls on your lap immediately. Give it a little time and when you least expect it, the answer will come. Just remain attentive and you’ll recognize it.

  • Trust Your First Impressions

When you meet a person for the first time and immediately feel that he is not being transparent about what he says, or a bit too arrogant for your taste, chances are that your fist impression actually holds true.

Most of the time, first impressions are brought by intuition. You’ll later have an opportunity to verify (or not) your hunch. The more this happens, the more you will learn to trust your intuition. Be careful not to confuse intuition with prejudgment. The former relates to a feeling, the later is based on reason.

  • Be Happy

Intuition and happiness go hand in hand. This is because happiness attracts immense power and such power includes intuition. Thus, when you are happy your mind is not cluttered with problems and challenges, so you can tap into your intuition with ease.

  • Intuition is a helpful tool because it leads you to answers you couldn’t have come up with otherwise. Having said that... will you choose the path of intuition?

Let’s also consider that many lives have been saved by intuition alone.

Such is the case of the person who “feels” like going home walking rather than taking the bus as he usually does, only to later discover that the bus had been in an accident.

Intuition is a gift that you already posses. You will be able to make better decisions when you develop and practice listening to your inner guidance. Dedicate some time to expand your intuition and reap benefits you have never imagined. When you learn to trust your intuition, it becomes your best ally.
