Your Moment of
Power

What time is it?
At what time will you get there?
I have no time for that!
What a waste of time!

Time is indeed the most used noun in the English language, and of the least understood. One day we may feel as if time is literally flying, while another time is passing so slow it’s just nerve wrecking. Truth is, time does not pass nor is it static simply because it does not exist. Even Albert Einstein stated that the past, the present and the future all exist simultaneously!

This is a difficult concept to grasp, as we have been taught everything based on hours and minutes, days and nights, months and years since the moment we were born. Thus, trying to conceive a world without time can seem as strange as pretending that gravity doesn’t exist or that Planet Earth doesn’t rotate.

However, while gravity is a natural law, time is not. Time gives meaning to the sequence of events that happen in life, but it is NOT real as it was not created by nature. Time was invented by humans out of the need to give meaning to distance and movement.

Perplexed yet? Here is some proof... Did you know that the days between Sept 2nd and Sept 14th of 1752, never existed in the UK? Yes, the British erased 11 days from their calendar in order to adjust it with the Gregorian calendar. This is a true historic event that proves that time in fact, was created by humans, and as such, it can be manipulated by humans...

Here is another example... Did you know that the Hebrew calendar has 354 days compared to 365 days of the solar calendar? This is because the Hebrew calendar is based on the lunar cycle where each month begins with the full moon.

Now, if time existed as a law, it would be the same for all of us here on Planet Earth. Correct? And if that was true... where are the missing 11 days according to the Hebrew calendar? Or, from a different perspective... where did the “extra” 11 days of the Gregorian calendar come from? More precisely, what calendar is the correct one? Who says so and based on what?

Are you following me? If so, you may be asking...

If there is no time, what is there?

Once we accept that time is non-existent, we realize that there is only one moment... the present moment or the NOW.

"Flow with whatever may happen and allow your mind to be free.
Stay centered by accepting what you are doing; this is the ultimate"

~ Chuang Tzu

When we start living in the NOW, we no longer live dragging our past experiences and preoccupied about the future while paying little or no attention to the present. Our ego surrenders, our life drama ceases to exist, and we begin to awaken from the illusion of our apparent reality.

Our minds are in a better position to focus on the present -the only existing- moment at will. From this point onward, living in a state of constant happiness and peace becomes more feasible.

However, awareness is just the first step. The real task is to learn to deliberately and habitually live in that state of pure presence. This requires a conscious effort and a focused intent with the goal to master our thoughts so they don’t keep on jumping from the past to the future –and back- at random. This is where the challenge is. We must adopt a solid intent with determination, persistence and discipline to enter the moment of now frequently, consciously and at will.

The rewards are well worth the effort.

In his new ebook, Tim Whiston explains the concept of time and the importance of living in the “now”, or –like he calls it- living in "Your Moment of Power"

And once you become conscious of this, you’ll want to put it into practice in your everyday life.

Through a series of mindful exercises Tim guides you to achieve full awareness of the present moment, a state you can attain at will as often as you want.

Sounds great, doesn’t it? But wait a moment... if you are like me, I know you must be wondering how more tangible issues like visualizations and goal setting fit into this scheme of living in the now.

All I can say is that Tim’s explanation resonates with me. There is a definite way in which all of these areas interrelate in a way that makes sense. As soon as I assimilated this concept, I felt confident that my written goals and vision board have a place in my life while I pursue living in the now... but then again, you’d have to experience that yourself.

I’ll give you one nugget of wisdom I got from reading Tim’s ebook... I came to the conclusion that living in the now releases the pressure and stress from pursuing goals. As a result, life becomes more peaceful and more enjoyable... events actually flow easier.

Look at it from this angle... if we're consciously living in the now, why stress over things that may never happen anyhow? After all, the future ONLY exists in our thoughts and many times we imagine it as complicated and stressful, again, wasting precious energy in worthless worry which happens in the present moment.

Living in the now provides us with an almost predictable outcome– feeling happy, fulfilled, optimistic and self confident on a moment by moment basis... In this state of being it’s almost impossible not to achieve our goals because we move from moment to moment within positive expectation. It just makes perfect sense!

I highly recommend you read "Your Moment of Power" if you want to pursue your dream life stress-free while living happily in the now.

Ultimately, NOW is all we have...

"Happiness is the natural state of being and you can return to it
at will when you learn to allow and embrace the present moment"

~ Tim Whiston
