The Power Of Gratitude

Discover "The Power Of Gratitude" and Live a Happier Life!

Thank You is probably one of the universal phrases that gives meaning to life. It is an everyday thing - transcends culture, race, tradition, gender, status, language, age, etc. No matter how you see it, being grateful to someone for something - be it a thing, a person, an event or even a simple greeting, speaks of a person’s disposition in life as they acknowledge something good received.

Gratitude knows neither boundaries nor limits. It does not take too much effort or time to express it but its impact can last a lifetime; hence The Power of Gratitude.

Being grateful is a personal act of conviction that often leads to a positive outlook of life, for a person’s point of view in life depends largely on how he/she perceives things, events, people or anything that comes his/her way.

Gratitude goes hand in hand with positive attitude which helps you process matters in a lighter note even when things are not going the way you expect them to.

Having a grateful heart will always help you cope with the complexities of your life.

Yet, many wonder if it’s possible to be thankful for the not-so-good things that show up in everyone’s life every now and then… Can we –somehow- be thankful for a tragedy that has impacted our lives forever?

This is a very personal decision; some people are, some others are not.

Keep on reading for you to lean how gratitude can help in difficult circumstances and so you can arrive at your own conclusions…

How Does The Power Of Gratitude Work?

Everyone of us has a good number of reasons to be thankful for every single day. Waking up in the morning is the first one.

This may seem simple –or even trivial- however, let’s look at the bigger picture… It means an opportunity to do something of value, to rectify the mistakes committed yesterday, to be creative and contribute to your community. It also gives you the possibility of meeting new people and doing some good for society and even the world at large. And, it gives you the option to learn a thing or two which can help you cope with the day’s challenges and improve your life in one way or another.

Thus, be thankful for having been given another day!

And then, every once in a while, we encounter circumstances that were not expected.

This is when the Power of Gratitude makes itself obvious, as beeing grateful can mark the difference between feeling miserable or experiencing an overall pleasant life.

For someone who is used to being thankful only for the good things in life, physical and psychological symptoms of brokenness may take over – panic, anxiety, mental anguish and other physical symptoms may manifest. When not dealt with properly, these can lead to more serious problems because the heart and the mind have been compromised.

The grateful person, on the other hand, takes things from a perspective. From this position, he/she is able to see some blessing in these adversities. His/Her world does not crumble but strives to rise above the situation. Emotions are kept in balance, and logical processes are in check. We can all cultivate this attitude for the difficult moments in life by only realizing that expressing gratitude doesn’t come from the mind but from the heart.

From this premise alone you can determine the Power of Gratitude and the impact it can have in your life.

As an added benefit, let's consider the metaphysical point of view. The grateful person emits positive vibrations, which in turn attract more positive experiences to their life. If you follow Law of Attraction principles in your life, you already know how powerful
this can be!

Here are a few points to consider about The Power of Gratitude...

  • Being grateful is treating oneself well.
Gratefulness does not prevent or discard difficult situations in life - rather accepts them and allows for a more firm resolve and will to face them. Being thankful also enhances your ability to solve problems logically while keeping your heart engaged to give you comfort as you move along the experience.

  • Gratitude is a transformative trait.
Once you adopt a grateful state of being, your life is likely to be changed forever. You will exude an aura that soothes and calms others, even without your being aware or others knowing why. You will unconsciously decline abrasiveness, rudeness and aggressiveness because you will be able to see beyond things, people and events. You will be able to remain serene and will smile often. When you choose to be grateful, you make it a habit to accept and think of situations as gifts, no matter what they bring; and, when experiences are taken as gifts that present themselves to teach you something, you will always welcome them.

  • Gratitude is more powerful when things are not bright.
A grateful heart is not choosy. Instead, it warmly welcomes anything that comes along, embraces the lessons and, like a triumphant warrior, moves forward much stronger and firmer.

  • In deep retrospection and reflection, gratitude is a powerful armor against pride, anger and bitterness – the things that corrode one’s personality.

Gratitude often brings the best out of people. Grateful people are humble, caring and considerate. They are optimistic in nature and usually live happier lives. This is why cultivating and practicing gratefulness is in your benefit, as an essential element for your self growth. This is where The Power of Gratitude lays.
